Buddy Maddox was a long-time member of the Prospect family.  His father, Tex Maddox, along with Richard Broadhead, Mrs. Clarence Roberts, Mrs. Max Smith and Mrs. Harry Austin helped found what we know today as Prospect.  The Buddy Maddox Scholarship program was established in Buddy's honor and used to assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities who do not have funding for services.  Prospect provides services which help individuals gain valuable skills and experiences with the support of trained staff.  Examples include vocational skills training, volunteerism, shopping on a budget, cooking, and learning about our community.

With long waiting lists and the lack of funding, families are paying out of pocket for services.  The scholarship program helps provide supplemental funding so that individuals who cannot afford to pay for services on their own can be a part of their community.

Even though time and technology have improved many things, the needs of individuals who have disabilities haven't changed.  The need for support to promote independence has been and always will be paramount.  Please consider sponsoring someone to receive these valuable supports and services. Each $30 provides one day of services for an individual who is enrolled in our Private Pay program. 100% of scholarship donations received are allocated to the Buddy Maddox Scholarship program.
